Energy Saving Tips

Do you have the power? The power of energy savings that is. Here are a few helpful hints to help you save on your monthly energy bills in your apartment home:

  • The power of one: If every one replaced just one light bulb in their apartment with an Energy Star bulb, there would be an energy savings to light 3 million homes for a year.
  • How many green plants do you have in your apartment? Studies show that plants in your home can remove up to 87% of air toxins.
  • Is your coffee maker plugged in? Even though it is turned off the lights on small appliances use energy and cost you money - roughly $100 per year.
  • Portable heaters are great for spot heating in your apartment, but don’t over do it. Running a 1,500 watt resistance heater 24/7 can cost $100 on its own.
