As we say farewell to 2017 and look to 2018, a lot of us may be trying to see what changes can be made so next year is even better than the last! New Year’s Resolutions are a great way to motivate you to make these changes, but it’s not always the easiest thing to do over the course of an entire year. Here are some tips in helping you make and keep your resolutions!
Make your goal. Try to be specific when you set a goal for yourself. This makes things easier to track and gives you a sense of accomplishment once you complete the goal. Instead of making your goal “save more money,” try something like, “save every five dollar bill I get.” The best thing about making the resolution more specific is that you can tailor it for yourself.
Have someone hold you accountable. Once you figure out your goal, tell it to someone! Ask them to help you with your commitment by giving you the push that you need to succeed and to reward you when you do.
Take it slow. Try not to overwhelm yourself by jumping straight into the end of your goal. For example, if your resolution is to complete a 10K, don’t immediately try to run that distance. Start with running shorter distances or walking and slowly getting yourself into running. If you find yourself struggling with your resolution, don’t be afraid to change it to make it more manageable or even start again from scratch. A resolution doesn’t need to be a New Year’s one, only!
Concord Rents would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year!
